Champions
World: Sandman
TV: Shane Douglas
Tag Team: Gangstas

So I’m watching the remastered edition of this show. This is the first time I’m seeing a “remastered” version of the fan cams. Avoid them with all your power, they look like crap. Sound guy has trouble with his equipment for the first few minutes so the fans let him have it.

TV Champion “The Franchise” Shane Douglas (w/ Francine) vs. Mikey Whipwreck, ref John Finnegan
Mikey yells at the sound guy and flips him off. His music doesn’t work but Shane’s is fine. Fan’s are hyped for ECWs return tonight. Pitbull 2 tries to get into the ring before the match but a bunch of wrestlers are right with him holding him back. Shane attacks Mikey from behind to get things going. Mikey fires back and sends Shane to the floor after a couple dropkicks. Mikey with a baseball slide and plancha onto Shane. Mikey with the advantage in the ring. He beats on Shane and hits a DDT that nearly gets 3. Mikey with a few submissions but then he ducks his head on an irish whip allowing Shane to hit a swinging neckbreaker. Vertical suplex by Shane and then Francine chokes Mikey on the ropes. Mikey goes out after her. Shane tries to hit a baseball slide but his feet get caught on the rope. HAHA. They fight on the floor a bit. Shane sets up two chairs in the ring and power bombs Mikey through them! Mikey someone manages to kick out at 2. Mikey comes back and hits a DDT for 2. Mikey with a top rope dropkick and we nearly had a new champ. Crossbody for another close 2. Mikey goes for another crossbody but Shane spins him in the air into a tombstone. Full nelson locked in and Francine tells him to let it go right before Mikey’s hand drops the last time. She wants him to finish it with a belly to belly. Shane picks up a limp Mikey and hits it for the victory in 10.49. After the match he locks in the full nelson again. Shane gets on the mic but Pitbull 2 quickly hits the ring and chases him to the back. Not bad. A bunch of personnel come to the ring to check on Mikey as he sells the neck injury.

Taz (w/ Bill Alfonso) vs. Roadkill, ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
Roadkill makes his debut here tonight. No gimmick for him yet, just cut off jeans and a mesh tank. Taz beats on him, fans chant for Sabu. Taz wants to know “where the fuck is he?”. They go to the floor and Roadkill is sent into the guardrail. German suplex dumps Roadkill on his head. Tbone from Taz and a tazmission puts it away at 4.11. Taz dumps Roadkill out of the ring after the match. And welcome to the biz kid. Taz gets on the mic and trashes Sabu and the fans.

“Shah” Hack Meyers & Louie Spicoli vs. Bad Crew, ref Jim Molineaux
Bad Crew is back, oh joy. After over a month of not being around I was hoping they were gone. At least they didn’t bring back Damien Kane with them. Spicolli who has become one of the most over guys in ECW gets stuck in a tag match with 3 pieces of garbage. Louie starts off and clotheslines his opponent to the floor. All four men in the ring Bad Crew gets noggin knockered and thrown to the floor. Hack in now and Bad Crew takes over. At about the six minute mark Louie tags in and hits a spin buster and drop kick. All four men in the ring now. Spicolli hits the DVD on both guys and gets the pin in 7.04. Super basic match, to long and did nothing to showcase your new hot star.

Tag Team Champion New Jack vs. Axl Rotten, ref John Finnegan
Music guy plays the wrong track for New Jack. Someone corrects him. Surprisingly New Jack doesn’t stab him. First match for Axl since September 14th. Most interesting weapon of the match goes to: the construction worker’s helmet. New Jack throws a dropkick! It was awful looking, I was just shocked. 187 ends the fight in 6.49. Axl’s friend D-Von Dudley attacks Jack after the match. D-Von goes for a chair shot to the head and Jack bitches out and throws his hands way up. Big Dick Dudley comes down and attacks D-Von from behind! He finally gets his hands on him. Axl hits Dick with a chair a bunch. D-Von takes out Big Dicks knee. New Jack and Big Dick fight back. D-Von goes low on Big Dick and comes off the top but Dick catches him and choke slams him to the mat! I’m fairly certain this is the first time Dick has been able to choke slam D-Von.

Eliminators vs. Dudley Boys (w/ Sign Guy Dudley), ref John “Pee Wee” Moore
Eliminators have been getting more and more cheers lately. Saturn and Buh Buh Ray Dudley start off. Buh Buh uses his size to overpower Saturn and hit him with a samoan drop. Kronus comes in and they go for a double suplex but Buh Buh blocks and suplexes both of them. Spike dives off the top with a crossbody. Eliminators bail and Buh Buh throws Spike out of the ring onto them. All four men then brawl into the crowd. Buh Buh dives off the stage onto everyone in a cool spot. Spike and Saturn make it back into the ring after 7 minutes. Spike with a tilt a whirl head scissor. Saturn hits a superkick and then dives out of the ring onto Buh Buh. Kronus hits a spin kick on Spike. Kronus goes for a choke slam but Spike reverses it into a rana but Kronus back on top. This has turned back into a regular tag match now. Kronus with a rolling samoan drop and then Saturn comes in off the top with a splash. Spike ducks a clothesline hops on Saturn’s shoulders and hits a rana. Saturn back up quickly with a superkick and he tags Kronus. Kronus catches Spike has he goes for a cross body and hits a fall away slam. Kronus with the pump handle suplex. Kronus slows things down with a chin lock. Tag made to Saturn and they hit a suplex top rope crossbody combo. Kronus in now with a slingshot suplex and then he tags out. Eliminators have really slowed the pace down. Saturn goes for a super belly to back but Spike rolls over onto him. Both teams tag. Buh Buh comes in and hits a big corner splash on Kronus and a spin buster. Buh Buh tries to throw Spike into Saturn but Saturn drop kicks him out of the air. Buh Buh sets up a powerbomb on Saturn but Kronus clotheslines him. Buh Buh throws Spike into Saturn for a 2 count. Boss man slam by Buh Buh but the pin is broken up by Kronus. Saturn with the big elbow drop from the top onto Buh Buh and they finish off Spike with total elimination in 17.46.

Doug Furnas vs. “Dangerous” Devon Storm, ref Jim Molineaux
Some fan either spits on or throws something at Storm. Storm then gets the guy kicked out. Furnas hammers away on Storm right away. Storm ducks a clothesline and hits a standing springboard moonsault. Storm goes up top but misses a moonsault. Furnas with the German suplex that sends Storm all the way over to his stomach and gets the win in 1.27. The cop that threw the fan out walks over to Storm and whispers something to him. Storm responds by saying let him stay in jail. HAHA.

Pitbull #2 vs. Sammy The Silk (LA Smooth), ref Jim Molineaux
Sounds like Sammy is introduced as Sammy Slick tonight. Sammy hits a few clotheslines. Pitbull comes back with one of his own and then a running powerslam. Crowd has really died down for this and the last match. Sammy takes over again and beats down Pitbull in the corner. Smooth gets a few shots in behind the refs back. Sammy with a super belly to back. Pitbull no sells it. Sammy knocks him back down though. Pitbull comes back with a powerslam. Samu grabs the ref and Smooth comes in the ring and nails Pitbull from behind. Samu misses a corner charge and then stumbles back and knocks the ref down. Smoth now switches places with Sammy even though they look nothing a like. Smooth hits a top rope splash but it’s not sold again. Powerslam by Pitbull ends thins in 5.11. Shane Douglas comes out and offers 10 k for anyone in the back that can come take out Pitbull. Blue Meanie and Super Nova come out. Pitbull makes short work of them. JT Smith and Sal Bellomo are out. Pitbull turns to fight Smith and Smith backs down and says they will join forces to beat up Douglas. For some reason Pitbull falls for this but he kills Smith with an overhead belly to belly. Douglas decides to do it himself but then he stops and leaves.

Sabu vs. Too Cold Scorpio, ref John Finnegan
These two had a pretty good match last week let’s see if they can change it up enough to keep me interested. Back and forth until Sabu sends Scorpio to the floor and then planchas down onto him. Sabu with a triple jump into the crowd. He puts Scorp on an table but Scorpio catches him on the apron and powerbombs him back into the ring. Scorpio slams Sabu face first onto the chair in the ring and gets a 2 count. Cross body off the top but Sabu kicks out. Scorpio with a drop kick and then he throws Sabu to the floor. Scorpio working pretty slowly tonight. Not making it bad just not at their normal pace. Urinagi gets 2 and Scorpio again dumps Sabu to the floor and then they go into the crowd. Back in the ring Sabu with a triple jump leg drop gets 2. Scorpio puts Sabu on the apron near the table and charges. Sabu slingshots himself back in with a drop kick. An Arabian press gets 2. Scorpio fights back and goes for a slingshot leg drop from the apron but Sabu moves. Sabu goes for a springboard leg lariat but Scorpio catches him with a belly to back. Scorpio hits another urinagi then misses a top rope splash. Sabu comes back hits the triple jump moonsault but only gets 2. Scorpio goes for a spin kick but Sabu moves and he crotches himself on the rope. Sabu goes up top and leaps to Scorpio and hits him with a rana. Sabu puts Scorpio on the apron he charges but Scorpio jumps back into the ring with a drop kick attempt. Sabu slides under and onto the apron. Scorpio hits the rope Sabu now tries to jump back into the ring but Scorpio drop kicks him and he hits the table hard. Scorpio with a slingshot splash that sends them crashing through the table. Moonsault by Scorpio for 2. He goes up again but Sabu stops him Scorpio with a super front suplex and then he comes of with a spinning splash for 2. Again he goes up top and is stopped with a super rana. Sabu leaps off the 2nd buckle with a flying tornado DDT to get the win in 16.11. They shake hands but Scorpio nails him and beats on him all the way to the back.

Steel Cage Match: Tommy Dreamers (w/ Beulah) vs. “Primetime” Brian Lee (w/ Blue Meanie & Super Nova), refs John “Pee Wee” Moore & Jim Molineaux
Nova and Meanie jump Dreamer before he gets into the cage. Lee hops out of the ring to help and we get a bell. They go out into the parking lot and into the ladies room. Dreamer suplexes Lee onto a merch table and then splashes him on it. Lee comes back with a suplex on the floor. Four minutes since the bell rang and they finally get inside the cage. Meanie and Nova hand Lee a table over the cage. Dreamer throws the ref out of the way and DDTs Lee. Nova and Meanie come in go after Dreamer. Meanie goes up for a moonsault. Dreamer gets up and snap mares down Nova. Meanie goes for the moonsault and Nova moves. Dreamer hits a DDT on Nova. Lee with a chokeslam on Dreamer. Lee leans over Dreamer to pick him up and Dreamer small packages him for the win in 6.58. After the match Lee chokeslams Dreamer off the top rope through a table. They chase Beulah around the ring and into the cage. Lee and Nova are pulled away by police but Meanie goes into the ring. Beulah slaps and DDTs him. Stevie Richards and Nova go back to the ring to check on Meanie when “Enter Sandman” starts playing. Richards complains that he’s not ready for the match. But it’s to late for him.

Steel Cage Match: World Champion Sandman vs. Steve Richards, refs John Finnegan & Jim Molineaux
Richards on the mic before the match he says some stuff and tells Nova and Meanie to get Sandman. Sandman charges them and nails Meanie with the cane. Nova ducks and then Stevie hits a Stevie kick. Nova goes after Sandman with a chair but Sandman gets it and uses it on him. Stevie Stevie kicks the chair into Sandman’s face but only gets 2. Sandman fights back and starts slamming the back of Stevie’s head into the cage. Meanie attacks from behind. Stevie gets the cane and goes to town on Sandman. Rocker dropper and a meanie-sault only get 2. Nova comes off the top turnbuckle with a drop kick. Stevie goes to the top of the cage while Sandman fights off Meanie and Nova with the cane. Stevie comes off the top of the cage but Sandman crotches him with the cane hits a DDT and scores the pinfall in 4.02. Sandman celebrates his win to the end the show.

My thoughts on the show…
Nothing was bad here, but at the same time nothing was really worth seeing. Don’t waste the two and half hours on this show unless you just really like this era of ECW.
