– UFC president Dana White has come out and admitted a mistake was made when he removed MMA judge Howard Hughes this past weekend during an event in China. The promotion recently released a statement in regards to the matter, and White echoed what was said officially during a media scrum in Mexico.
“It’s no secret how fired up I get when there’s bad judging, but I have o apologize to judge Hughes,” White said (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for the quotes). “I did get some misinformation. He didn’t score the second fight 30-27 for the fighter from China. Andy yeah, I got a little crazy, and I overstepped my bounds. It’s not the firs time, and hopefully that’s the last time I’ll ever do that. I was wrong.”
White has been very critical and outspoken when it comes to judges, officials and referees within MMA. Due to the event taking place in China, the UFC was the official athletic commission and hired the judges and officials.
– UFC middleweight contender and former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold has come under fire for what some have described as “fondling.” Rockhold posted a video of himself sitting next to a tiger on Instagram, and you can see it below.
Rockhold, who does not have a fight currently scheduled, added the caption “For those of u who think it was disrespectful I’m sorry. Was so minor just joking around, I was way too scared and would never do anything harmful to any animal.”
